In fact, the project is named “Gardenhouse”, located at 8600 Wilshire Boulevard in California, Beverly Hills, and is a multi-purpose complex of 18 residential apartments above the ground floor and commercial premises.

The structure looks like a "hillside village" with residential buildings "growing" from the living green wall of the building. Overlooking the landscape design, a group of white facades, irregularly shaped windows and gabled roofs create the illusion of separate buildings, and separately the roofs refer to the iconic slopes of Los Angeles.

When completed, it will house one of the largest living green walls in the United States. The façade will be covered with lush plantings of local drought-tolerant succulents and vines.

Plants do not need acclimatization, which eliminates the need for additional watering and maintenance. The result is a unique texture that organically, naturally, seasonally complements the cityscape.

The Hillside Village, with an area of 4,460 square meters, combines several types of housing: two studios, eight condominiums, three townhouses and five villas. This diversity results in a high sense of community and a sense of individuality and exclusivity even in this small building.

Unlike traditional apartment layouts, each block has its own independent entry / exit route, while almost every block has a pitched roof.

Surrounded by this group of white "houses" with pitched roofs, the courtyard on the 2nd floor forms the central landscape space for walking and meeting neighbors. Careful planning of the distance, orientation and positioning of the courtyard-facing balconies has resulted in a secluded, serene and comfortable interaction between the residents and the “secret garden” they share.

Gardenhouse residents are greeted through the ground floor entrance along Stanley Drive, just off Wilshire Boulevard. At the entrance, the atmosphere of a cave extending into the hillside is created; a dull, surreal environment in which residents are led on a journey through the "fairyland" of light, shadow and water noise. Further, the softness of the cave meets a bright finish with natural light that reflects off the pool in the courtyard.
